Lutsen: The Lift
7 Month Max
Month 7, wow, everyone says and we're sure heads will be nodding with us when we say...it flies by SO fast! Mad Max has been amazing, he's completely forgotten about his dislike for tummy time, he sits up on his own and has any kind of roll needed to navigate the room down pat, no problem. Next up, crawling. :)
Well, Max started his 7th month off on a visit to Lutsen Resort with his M&D, Nana, Poppi, Auntie Kristi and Cousin Isla - it was a blast! It was peak of the season for fall colors, truly beautiful, and the fam had fun on the alpine slides (where C beat E in their race to the finish), a Grand Marai visit, pie from The Pie Place, Par 3 golf, swimming and hiking - a great time had by all. From there, Max traveled to Middleton, WI; he visited his cousins Ella, Abby, Jenny and Eric, Uncle Rog and Aunt Barb and was a charmer as usual - it was so nice to see everyone, especially when it's not as often as we'd like.
After that, we came home and have since been out with friends and celebrated our 3 year anniversary yesterday. Had the best meal, pistachio crusted Salmon with Asparagus risotto and a GREAT Reisling, Sterling Castle from Trader Joe's, buy it, you won't be disappointed, especially good with Salmon and risotto!
Well, that's all for now...we're doing good and looking forward to the holidays - see you then!
With Love,
ECM
6 Month Max
Okay, okay, so we're not being very faithful with this blog thing are we?...we promise to do better from now on! :)
So, Max at 6 months started eating solids, and has loved every moment! He started with rice cereal, moved on to avocado and then on to garbanzo, cannellini and black beans with garlic! He dug the carrots and sweet potatoes, of course his very favorite seems to be squash, hands down.
Besides eating like a champ, his 6 month well check went well too - he is weighing in at 16lbs, 4 oz and length of 27 inches; about 70% all around and looking good. He continues to charm the nurses and Dr. Paulson and has a new nickname around South Lake Pediatrics, Mad Max, not because he's angry (hardly) but because he's cool like that. :)
Max's 6th month has been great thus far, so much to continue looking forward to!
Take care,
M&D Knutson

5 Month Max
Well, it's happened, Max rolled over for the first time...as soon as Mommy went out of town that is!! Seriously, Daddy called a couple hours after Mommy left for "GW10" with the ladies and TA-Dah! Max was on his tummy after his nap! He continued to roll over but nobody saw it throughout the weekend...and then, he did it, he rolled over from back to front (that was his first "roll" - see 4 Month Max) and then front to back, all in one big swoop! He loves it and is almost always on his tummy when we go to get him from his crib or when playing on his playmat. So fun!
Other than that, he's growing & changing ALL the time, although we won't get to know his percentile or the actual numbers (height/weight) until his 6 month check up beginning of September. He weighed in at 15 lbs, 14 oz. and 25 1/2 inches at his 4 month (75% all the way around) but we KNOW he's bigger now...definitely getting to be a little tank when you go to pick him up. :) He's also babbling like crazy, forming his "words" more and more - we're hearing a lot of dah-dah-dah and mah-mah-mah but no distinct "Dada" or Mama" quite yet...can't wait for that moment!
So we're having a great summer, visiting family and friends and staying VERY busy - we love it and look forward to upcoming weddings and more babies (not us, family and friends) on the way!
Lots o' Love,
ECM-K
***The pic is the day he first rolled over (07/30), it's how Daddy found him when he got up from his afternoon nap. :)
